The family-owned and operated winery sources all of its grapes from California, including the family’s 1,850 acres of estate vineyards, along with growers who have partnered with the family for generations. CK Mondavi and Family wines are the first and only to be 100% “Made in USA Certified®,” and are trusted to be consistently reliable from year to year.
History
A family business since Italian immigrants Cesare and Rosa Mondavi established the winery in the 1940s, CK Mondavi and Family remain faithful to their dream of producing fine wines everyone can enjoy. Built on a foundation of family values, hard work, and European winemaking traditions, the winery offers a portfolio of wines for special occasions and everyday gatherings of family and friends. Today, CK Mondavi and Family are led by Marc Mondavi, son of legendary Napa Valley wine icon Peter Mondavi, Sr. The fourth generation of the family is also beginning to make its own mark, and the family welcomed the first member of the fifth generation in early 2021, adding new chapters to a story that began seven decades ago.
Vineyards & Winemaking
With a philosophy that delicious wines begin in the vineyard, CK Mondavi and Family harvest grapes at their peak of ripeness from vineyards in prime California growing regions, to create wines with robust flavors. The family’s own estate vineyards, planted to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, benefit from the gravelly soil, warm days, and cooling breezes from the Delta. Long-term grower partners are part of the extended family, and farm with the same attention to detail and emphasis on quality. The result is a wine that over-delivers for its category.
