As growers at heart, the family’s deep-rooted commitment to cultivating exceptional grapes has shaped their winemaking legacy for generations, producing wines that embody the excellence of Napa Valley. At the forefront of this tradition is Angelina Mondavi, the only fourth generation (“G4”) family member to earn a winemaking degree. Her expertise in crafting highly regarded wines, along with her leadership in the Family Reserve Collection, captures the distinct character of the family-owned vineyards and underscores the importance of succession in preserving the family legacy.
The eldest daughter of Marc and Janice Mondavi, Angelina was raised on the family estate, where she developed a profound appreciation for both the land and the artistry behind winemaking. Growing up, she had a front-row seat to her grandfather’s craftsmanship, watching Peter Mondavi Sr. produce exceptional wines and build a legacy. Her passion for winemaking ignited at an early age—she was helping in the lab by the age of 10.
Inspired by her family’s dedication and artistry, she chose to follow in their footsteps, and now, as a consulting winemaker, she is proud to continue that legacy, creating wines meant to be cherished for generations.
