Recognized as Napa Valley’s Great Estate, Charles Krug is more than just the region’s oldest winery, it's the birthplace of California wine culture. Established in 1861 with California’s first tasting room, the winery is now proudly owned by the Peter Mondavi Sr. family and is a majority female-owned company.

As one of Napa Valley’s longest standing last independent, family-owned wineries, Charles Krug has pioneered groundbreaking winemaking techniques. Under the leadership of Peter Mondavi, Sr., the winery developed cold fermentation as a revolutionary new technique for crafting white wines, which is today an industry standard. Additionally, Charles Krug became the first Napa Valley winery to integrate imported French oak barrels into its red wine aging process.

Charles Krug remains an epicenter of culture in Napa Valley by blending rich history with forward-thinking sustainability practices and memorable experiences for the next generation of wine lovers.
