Female Owned and Led
Hanna Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a pioneering cardiac surgeon who, after frequent visits to Sonoma, bought a ranch in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, planted grapevines and began to make wine. In 1991, his daughter Christine Hanna took over the family wine business, leading the winery’s strategic growth and cementing its place as an iconic Sonoma brand, renowned for producing exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Under Chris’ leadership, she has taken the winery from a few hundred cases to over 50,000 cases, positioning the winery as a leader in the Sauvignon Blanc category. Today, with over 250 acres across five premier vineyard sites, Hanna Winery remains dedicated to celebrating Sonoma’s diverse terroir, the farm-to-table movement, and the true essence of the Sonoma lifestyle.

Consistent Award-Winning Winemaking since 1988
Winemaker Jeff Hinchliffe joined Hanna Winery in 1998. Jeff’s first move was to evolve the Sauvignon Blanc style into the signature Hanna Sauvignon Blanc we know today. Jeff’s philosophy is “Sauvignon Blanc does not have to be oaked and high in alcohol to be serious.” which resulted in award winning wines.
Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc has a starring role at Hanna Winery. Hanna’s winemaking begins in the vineyards; they manage the canopies to promote photosynthesis and protect clusters from heat and light from fruit-set on. Early on, they recognized the importance of keeping our fruit cool, leading to berries that are vibrant green, lively, flavorful and firm at harvest. Hanna Sauvignon Blanc is fermented and aged in Stainless steel tanks which keeps the wine fresh and bright.
