Embrace the essence of fall with this aromatic cocktail. Blending the sweetness of ripe apples, the warmth of cinnamon, and a hint of clove, this cocktail captures the cozy spirit of the season.

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts apple juice (preferably fresh)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sticks (about 3-4 sticks)
  • ½ teaspoon whole cloves
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup apple brandy
  • 1 cup raisins (optional for added sweetness)
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Directions

In a large pot, combine the apple juice and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

Add the cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, nutmeg, and lemon juice, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Let the mixture simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse their flavors.

Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Strain out the spices and solids using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, then return the liquid to the pot.

Stir in the apple brandy and raisins, mixing well.

Bottle the spiced mixture and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to let the flavors meld beautifully.

Serve chilled or warmed in small glasses and garnish with a cinnamon stick or apple slice if desired.
