Banana Sangria offers a creamy and exotic flavor profile, making it a perfect choice for gatherings or themed parties. Adjust the sweetness and fizziness to your liking, and be sure to serve it chilled for the best experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) white wine
  • 1/4 cup banana liqueur
  • 1/4 cup white rum
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until sugar dissolves, then cooled)
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • Soda water or lemon-lime soda (optional, for fizz)
  • Ice cubes
  • Banana slices and citrus wedges for garnish

Directions

In a bowl, combine the sliced bananas and lemon juice. Gently mash the bananas with a fork to create a banana puree with some texture.

In a large pitcher, pour in the white wine, banana liqueur, white rum, and simple syrup. Stir to combine.

Add the banana puree and the sliced lemon and lime to the pitcher. Stir again to incorporate the banana mixture.

Refrigerate the Banana Sangria for at least 2 hours (or longer) to let the flavors meld and the sangria chill.

Just before serving, add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses.

Optionally, top off each glass with a splash of soda water or lemon-lime soda for fizz, if desired.

Garnish the Banana Sangria with slices of fresh banana and citrus wedges.
