The combination of seasonal fruits and spices makes it a perfect drink to celebrate the fall season.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of red wine (e.g., Tempranillo, Merlot)
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • 2 apples, thinly sliced
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 whole cloves
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Sparkling water or club soda, for topping off
  • Ice cubes

 

Directions

Combine the red wine, apple cider, brandy, orange liqueur, apple slices, orange slices, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Stir gently to mix the ingredients.

 

Add the maple syrup to sweeten the sangria to your liking. Adjust the amount of syrup based on your preference for sweetness.

 

Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.

 

Just before serving, top off the sangria with sparkling water or club soda for a bit of fizz.

 

Serve the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria over ice in glasses, garnished with an apple slice or orange twist if desired.
