This hot sangria combines fruity flavors with aromatic spices, inviting you to savor every sip. Infused with orange, apples, and a hint of cinnamon, it offers a breathtaking aroma and a heartwarming taste that enhances gatherings and festivities.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750ml) red wine (Merlot or Tempranillo)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 apple, cored and diced
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • Fresh cranberries or pomegranate seeds for garnish
     

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine red wine, apple cider, and brandy.

 

Add honey or maple syrup, stirring until dissolved.

 

Toss in sliced orange and diced apple, mixing well.

 

Drop in cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise, if using.

 

Heat the mixture over medium heat until steaming (do not boil).

 

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes to meld the flavors.

 

Strain the mixture into heatproof glasses, discarding solids.

 

Garnish with fresh cranberries or pomegranate seeds and serve warm.
