England

England’s contribution to beer culture cannot be overstated: Stouts, Porters, and IPAs were all originally brewed in London.

About English Beer

Known mostly for its varieties of Ale beers, England’s beer history dates back to the Middle Ages. Some notable English beers include the Porter, developed in 16th C. London; the India Pale Ale (IPA), first brewed in the 17th C.; and Extra Special Bitters (ESB), first tapped in the 20th Century. Although the tradition for stronger, sweeter Ales is strong in England, recent years have seen Lager beers gain in popularity.
